This is a dual slot toaster, each slot is 35 mm wide and slightly more that 130 mm long, so will accommodate a wide variety of bread sizes. Toasting is started by pulling down the lever on the front of the toaster, the lever can be raised to check browning or released early by pressing the centre of the timing dial. My only critic of the toaster is that the timing is not specific check points but each time is in a range, so 2 is a wide band from 1 to 3, wifey and I thus can only say roughly where the dial is set, this is confusing, “Where have you set it dear” (we are polite at breakfast) “Oh, near the three”. “I’m not sure what you mean, have you set it at two or three?”. And so it continues da de dah.But is looks good and does a goodly nice toasting.
For years I've put up with unevenly toasted bread and printed labelling that rubs off in no time. Make no mistake, this is a precision instrument! I use my toaster almost every day and I looked upon this as investment in my piece of mind. I often eat bagels & crumpets and I can easily set this toaster to cook them perfectly too. I am 72, on a tight retirement budget and agonized whether I should spend the money but am home several days a week & absolutely delighted with my purchase. Strongly recommend.
Excellent toaster - can’t go wrong with it, no matter what setting you put it on, you get absolutely perfect toast. Looks great in the kitchen, doesn’t take up much space. Beautiful British design and quality.

Looks a bit out of the ordinary, but stylish, easy to find a consistent setting for most breads, wide slots & high lift saves burnt fingers, walls remain cool - useful with children around, seemed a bit pricey at fist but the longer we have owned it the better we think it well worth the money.
I've fallen back in love with toast!Perfect every time, the browning adjuster is notched so when you find your perfect setting, it's repeatable.Very satisfied.
Worth the money a lovely quality toaster and and well built. not hugely fast but very precise on settings. Hope it will last the extra years to justify the additional cost against standard toasters!
We all love this toaster in our house. No fuss, dependable, easy to learn settings, does what is should, doesn't burn. I know it's only a toaster but this one is special!
First Toaster I have bought that I can actually toast bread beautifully set at number 5. In over 46 years of marriage all the toasters I have bought burn on number 1-2. A joy to be able to colour coordinate it to my new kitchen too.

Toasts perfectly, lots of settings for different types of bread, fits Baigel perfectly with a bagel setting that toasts one side only. Very quick. So much better than the KitchenAid toaster it replaced…
I was a bit nervous about spending a lot of money on a Dualit toaster, especially after some of the negative reviews. I have been absolutely delighted with my purchase. The wide slots cam accommodate thick bread, crumpets, pain au chocolat etc. after fiddling around with the settings I now know exactly which settings to use to get perfectly toasted bread and pastries. The peek facility is very useful too.
Surprisingly well designed when compared to others. Looks very tidy in the kitchen and very user friendly. Has a unique bagel setting which heats only one side of the elements - something I have t seen before.Well made.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this brand, it’s stylish sleek and obviously a great toaster. The settings work great and produces perfect toast time after time. I have tried other brands but always go back to Dualit
Nice big toaster and easy to use. I love the fact there are a lot of different timing settings, and the bagel setting it really handy. It gets hot nice and quick and is easy to get thing out. All in all I'd say it is the best toaster I've had. Bold statement but I can't honestly find anything bad about it! Also if you're wanting to change it up a bit you can buy different coloured panels for the sides which is an interesting idea.
Couldn't wait to get this and it doesn't disappoint. It's really sturdy and modern. It does get very hot so I've had to move it from under a cupboard in case it scorches the wood. You also don't need to turn it up very much to get a good toast on your bread. Suggest no more than a 3 setting.
Looks great and even better is that it toasts really well. Super easy to clean and to use. Has a defrost setting but never used it.
Wanted a toaster to replace my Sage toaster which cost a considerably amount more and only lasted as long as the guarantee and could not be repaired, I have been delighted with the Dualit toaster, it has all the features that I wanted, defrost, bagel setting and although like all toasters it could have a deeper slot, on the whole it’s a good purchase and I believe that should it fail I can get it repaired. I will be buying the matching kettle in the near future
Gutted when my old Magimix gave up. Already had the Dualit classic kettle but wasn’t paying the high price of a matching toaster. I love my kettle, it’s so good so hoped this was up to the same standard. It really is. It’s so quiet when popping up. You can raise during toasting to see if it’s okay without effecting setting. It’s extremely fast! I’m so pleased I chose this one. It ticks all my boxes. So easy to clean too.
Best toaster I ever purchased. Have had it for a few years now, and it works perfectly. Only downside is there is no reheat setting. But I knew that buying it so not holding it against the product; just wish that feature would be added to the next model when I eventually have to replace this one. No clue when that might be given this product appears to be extremely resilient and long lasting
This is not my first Dualit toaster. I got this with the kettle at the same time. I will warn you know this is a big toaster. You can cut thick bread and it bakes the bread perfectly and evenly. But as with all new toasters it does take some getting used to to know what the perfect settings are. Because no 2 loaves of bread are the same, one might be a little doughy or damp from being in the fridge and the other might be crispy and hard. So you have to use trial and error for the couple of times you use the toaster. I find that 6.5 does the perfect toasting but it depends on the thickness of the bread you are using. One thing I will say it to make sure that you Unplug after use just in case of accidental pushing down the leaver. Again brilliant toaster from the masters of German appliences Dualit.Pro. Amazing toaster. Positive controls/knobs/buttons etc give a quality feel that you expect from a £100+ toaster!Quick to toast 4 slices perfectly evenly and to identical levels of toastyness which is ideal. Yes it takes a few attempts to setIt up precisely but this is the only toaster I have used that when each side is set to the same level.... they toast at the same level; which is how it should be for a top end toaster.Then there's the bagel function.... I'll be honest; I thought a waste of time... just stick them under the grill like any normal person has done for the last 20 years and get on with it. Then I though what the heck they designed it for a reason so why not use it as intended. Sooooo much quicker and no grill pan to wash up. Perfectly toasty one side, perfectly warm and doughy the other.The crumb tray is easy to remove and wash.Love the fact you can change the end panels to match in decor, we have changed ours from stainless to yellow. Also other items in the 'Architect' range can be purchased to match.We have also purchased the sandwich toaster cages to fit. They hold the bread and fillings snugly so they don't fall out, another well thought out feature.Ultimately I think it's a fantastic bit of kit that has the options to personalise. It does what it should do and it does it well. Yes it is expensive for a toaster but for the quality I have experienced in comparison to our old one (micromark for about £60 5yrs ago) is well worth it.
I was concerned by a few reviews that said the toaster broke or burned toast. We are only 1 week in -- so longevity still has to be tested! However, the toasting experience is wonderful. The toaster looks great -- very high quality and great design, with metal construction. The toasting levers feel very nice. It does pop up but also you can manually inspect it mid-toast. The actual toasting pattern is more like you get in hotels -- it seems "professional", rather than usual at home style toaster. I can imagine the burning is because this toaster is super powerful and a lot fo bread needs a low setting. We use a lot of gluten free bread, and it actually improves the flavor of this vs other toasters (which I am grateful for!) Most importantly, it is designed and made in Britain -- which we were prepared to pay for -- rather than the usual "made in China". I loved the video of the inventor and his family testing toasters - I was sold! And it is better than I expected (so far!)
