Best kettle we've ever had and we've had A LOT!

This is our second of these fantastic kettles, the first has lasted us 5 years and we are heavy tea drinkers. I would say we are very heavy kettle users all round really, I even use it to heat the water in the water bucket when I wash the cars.Just descale it regularly and you'll have a great long lasting kettle! The last one didn't even stop working, it just started getting very loud and eventually tripped the RCD breaker.I usually struggle to clean all the limescale from kettles but with our last one of these it looked as good as new it's whole life.I would 100% reccomend this kettle!

Great quality

Great quality kettle, we have had one previously that lasted numerous years but once it went we replaced it with a cheaper brand which started leaking within a few months. This might be expensive for a kettle but you get what you pay for. It looks stylish, it’s easy to clean and would highly recommend it. We initially ordered the grey version because it was a bit cheaper but I personally didn’t like the grey plastic, I felt it made it look cheaper so ordered the black instead. In my opinion it looked nicer against the chrome and matched our toaster which is the same brand.

Great :)

Brilliant item. Great pourer. Lid opens easily and cleans easily due to all metal construction. Always great quality as expected from Dualit. Noise level less than previous kettle so no issues. Looks great on work surface.

About as good as they get...

I think this is my first review of any product I've bought and the only reason I am doing this is because when I researched kettles I was so confused by conflicting reviews. So hopefully this will ease your pain.It boils quickly. It boils quietly. It looks good. The lid is large and the lid opening mechanism is the best I've come across. One reviewer said the level indicator is a bit hard to see. She is correct. But Dualit designers obviously didn't want the look spoiled by a big window down the side so they went for beauty instead of function and put the level window in line with the handle. Frankly it matters not a jot to me. If I want to know the level I pop the lid open with that lovely mechanism and have a look inside. It's hard to rave about a kettle but this one I suspect is about as good as they get. I'm glad I bought it.

Not cheap but well made

Yes you can buy cheaper but I am well impressed with this kettle with its looks, style and performance and it is solid . I noticed some comments say it is noisy - but I do not think it is - the noise is more than acceptable for any boiling kettle - Ended up buying the matching toaster ( 4 slice)

Good design

Seems good. It's a better design if you're refilling after just boiling. The hot steam doesn't get to your hand.

Beautiful & very quiet.

Looks beautiful & has a very quality feel to it. Am a bit of a kettle fiend, so we will see how long this one lasts - previous kettle (another brand) leaked and is back with manufacturer after 18months, hoping this will last us longer. It's also nowhere near as noisy as some others I've had & boils very quickly. The spout is particularly clever, with the no drip pouring system, and the lid opens smoothly without splashing you with boiling hot drops of water. Only slight negative is the water gage being inside the handle - this means you can't really see how much is in the kettle unless you tip it slightly to check before knowing if you need to re-fill. However, a very minor thing for me. for the look and function of it. I only wish they made it in a 1.8l capacity, as it is often constantly boiling in my house as I use it for my cooking water for veg etc.

Dualit what more is there to say...

I have owned a lot of Dualit products over the years and my kettle after 8 years of continued use is starting to show signs of wear tear and I was due for a new one. OMG this kettle is amazingly fast at boiling and I am not going to lie to you. It was the best coffee and cup of tea that I have had in ages. The kettle a quite tall for a kettle and the water is only 1.5L and you ask yourself why is the kettle tall when it’s only 1.5L.The water Max line is just under the spout and there is another 3 or 4 inches above this. The unique design of the kettle is perfectly balanced when you pour the water. It does not drip when pouring but I will warn you now. Because it is stainless steel it gets extremely hot so please keep the kettle away from children. It’s common sense so I don’t need to explain to a parent. It does get very hot so DO NOT touch the kettle even after 20 minutes it’s still very hot. I made a pot of tea and the kettle was hot enough to not need to boil again to top up the teapot. So in one way you save on electricity.Pro. German Engineering at it’s best. Awesome well ballenced kettle, boiled fast and stays hot.Cons. None

Ticks all the right boxes!

I have some fairly strict practical criteria for the selection of a kettle:- It must pour without splashing boiling water everywhere.- It must be able to be refilled without having to touch a hot surface.- You should be able to boil one cup of water easily.- It must not be too heavy when full. I'm a 6'2" strong-ish bloke but some kettles, particularly the metal ones, are ridiculously heavy and hard to handle when full; this is a safety hazard.- It should not take too long to boil (this is subjective, I know). This ticks all of these boxes - you can easily handle the kettle, even when full, with just one hand and the first ridge inside the kettle marks one cup-worth of water. There are some really strange comments in this thread relating to noise (all that I hear is the soft bubbling of water and then the 'click' of the kettle turning off) and the steam exit (all kettles have to release steam *somewhere* and you have to be mindful of this). I really don't understand why these lead to one-start reviews. This is my second Architect kettle: the first lasted ten years and I have no qualms about buying another: it is a household workhorse, particularly during lockdown! ;-)

Solid build and great design

Bought to replace a previous and long lasting Dualit that finally gave up (probably limescale saw it off), this looks like a new design classic and feels durable. Easy big fill lid, and the right angle spout works like a dream. I wouldn’t have looked for a light-up water level, but that’s fun and modern too. Cheaper kettles are of course available, but this is a design wonder and because it’s a Dualit, I’m confident it will serve us for many years to come. Thumbs up from me.

A classic kettle

After reading bad reviews, why would anybody complain about the noise of a boiling kettle? Honestly boiling water isn't quiet in any vessel. Water stains? That's hard water and will stain anything over time, clean it. People want the moon on a stick. It's a good classic kettle, made in England, with spares and a call line number on the bottom. Rant over enjoy something British that works and helps make a cup of tea. Stop being precious and make brews.

Stylish and efficient

Just realised I’ve had this kettle for nearly 5 years and I’m still delighted with it. It looks very stylish and performs well - quiet and quick. It’s the best kettle I’ve had. If it breaks down I will definitely buy another.

Invest in the best!

We absolutely love this kettle and matching toaster, after going through a few cheaper options, we decidedly that considering the daily usage we may as well invest in higher quality. We love using these products, they are top quality and put a smile on your face everytime you look at them, they are so stylish, no dripping, fast boiling, nice grip, keeps water really hot, solid on its base. Toaster, has lots of space for proper bread, toasts different shades properly at each number and you can lift your bread up while toasting just to check how done it is, super strong handles too, no fiddly bits that break. Proper British design, if you can afford it, forget the rest, invest in the best, very satisfied customers, thank you Dualit!

Beautiful, Simple, Artsy

Having spent a whole bunch of evenings doing research on kettles, and after owning my very own kettle which used an app but is now long extinct, I put my money into this Dualit design.I like certain designs of kitchenware that serve versatility, practicality and usefulness when in regular usage. So, a kettle being a simple smallish boiler of a sort needs imho to be able to withstand its own thermal cycles and be able to be handled safely and comfortably through your wash boil and fill cycle by the user. It needs to be free from risks of leaching out chemicals. Regardless of some manufacturer claims to the contrary. When it boils it needs to have a safe stable base and not wobble. Result here.Oh and I don’t use noise as a criteria for a kettle. Unless it rattles the windows which this does not, then I assume it makes a noise of boiling water. I do however like the quick boil aspect of kettle: this design gets the job done quickly and I would say pretty quietly. At least it doesn’t have some crazed annoying beep at the end of the heating cycle that can’t be switched off that would annoy far more folks I suspect. And I don’t have to plug this into a router to make a brew. To be clear I would rate this a quick boiling and, given the job it’s being asked to do, pretty quiet.Another criteria was stainless steel throughout. There is a tiny plastic insert in the kettle that I don’t much care for but another reviewer reports how to easily remove it.The body of this is solid whilst being light enough to enable me to float to the sink with it, whisperingly wofting my thumb over the small, ideally placed lid-release button, and filling the thing safely without risk of having my face or hands caught by escaping steam.Upon my return to the baseplate I pitch it again the task of making hot water and switch on the handily placed power switch whilst aiming the squat cylindrical escape nozzle roughly in the of my kitchen hob ventilation fan.I love the spout. The steam bubbles out as if from a classic steam engine and gets quickly expelled through the ventilation so that I can enjoy this routine daily.I use this kettle more than any high-tech thing that promises much but in the end just causes arguments. There is a beautiful blue water backlight when it’s in action that completes the look and feel; and in the end that is as sophisticated as any kettle needs to be as it also illuminates the water level. This is well thought out design. I would say highly respected mechanical and design engineers have had a strong hand in it’s feature set and evolution. And consequently, I amnow a Dualit convert.Highly recommended.

A careful buyer!
I was worried with some of these reviews - but this kettle is excellent

The media could not be loaded.

Very well made - looks fantastic and does the job. Here are the two things I couldn't really find a detailed review of so I've put them here and attached a video of the first:1) The spout - It's a funny shape compared to most - and I was worried that it would pour water in a strange way and I wouldn't like it. Well, it does pour differently, but its very nice. It's a more controlled pour with a slightly smaller flow. You have to tip the kettle maybe 10 degrees more than a normal spout kettle, but you get used to it in just a few goes. After that, you will appreciate the way the flow stops instantly when you straighten the kettle.2) The base is wobbly. Some people have written that they don't like the base as its not as secure - and I agree with this initially. Yes, the kettle does "wobble" on the base - if you wobble it about! When it's boiling with a max level of water in it, the kettle does a small "jiggle" right at the max boil rate - but NEVER enough to worry about or to look bad. However, this slightly lose base does make it easier to get the kettle on the charging port in the middle when it's full of water.Other points:It's not too heavy - even with loads of water. It makes about as much noise as any other jug kettle I've ever had. It's expensive, but it looks and feels expensive - which is kind of the point if you are buying something that is not just an appliance, but something that makes your kitchen look and feel nice (it's an important room after all!)We use a kettle several times a day, and we are pleased with this purchase - time will tell if it lasts.

Dualit

I already have Dualit products in my kitchen. I liked the look of this kettle. However I was unsure about the spout. I knew my daughter had a Dualit and she confirmed that she had the more expensive model which had the same spout and matched her toaster. She recommended me not to buy her model as I would not be able to remove the lid, having arthritis in my hands, but that this one would be ok as it has a press button opener. She said the spout was good as it was non-drip. Having used it for a few days I can confirm her advice was correct. The kettle fits my requirements perfectly. It is the excellent Dualit quality, easy to fill and does not drip, with a removable filter for easy cleaning. The cup size indicator is situated under the handle - which could be considered as awkward - but I have not found it a problem. It is sleek and looks well with my non-matching toasters. It does not have varied temperature controls for tea and coffee but I don’t find that an issue. It is a more expensive kettle but, if it turns out to be as good as my other Dualit products, I will be delighted and I would be happy to recommend..Update September 2025I have had my Dualit for a few months now. I love the brushed steel look and it looks really nice with my other brushed steel kitchen products. The spout does drip a little if you don’t lift it up straight after pouring but I place a clean cloth under it just in case, although I have to say that I don’t find it much of a problem. The only issue that I have is that it quickly needs cleaning inside and I have yet to find a Dualit recommended cleaning solution.

Beautiful looking kettle

Lovely kettle. I love it and it looks great in my kitchen. Easy to use, it is heavy to lift when full though. But I just love it.
