Top quality kettle. Looks really smart and works well. Bought to replace the same model which finally conked out after a good 10 years of daily use. Our water is very hard and takes its toll on appliances. 10 years is pretty good I reckon. Excellent delivery. Very happy
Worth spending a bit more to get a repairable, quality product like this. One unexpected bonus in moving from a glass kettle in our hard water area, is that the Dualit has almost zero limescale after 3 months, whereas we had to descale our previous kettle weekly. Now saving up for the matching legendary toaster!
Fed up buying cheap replacement foreign manufactured electric kettles so decided to go top range made in Britain. Very very pleased with this product, worth every penny, went on to buy their toaster. However be aware only certain of their models are manufactured in UK so check. An A*************product.
It's a great kettle. My only reservation is the lid is a manual flip-up. The old one which it replaced had a very handy push button on the handle meaning you could operate it one-handed when filling.

I really like this kettle overall, but I’d appreciate some clarification from Dualit on what exactly their “Whisper Boil™” is being compared to when they describe it as quiet. In my experience, it’s noticeably louder than a true whisper-quiet boil—definitely not silent or particularly subdued compared to other kettles I’ve used.
Overall a very nice kettle. I was able to purchase when it was on offer and I saved a fair amount. I do feel that the full price is too expensive given my concerns. The on off switch is plastic and if this fails (which others have reported) it costs £80 to repair this takes around two weeks and you have to pay for the return even if it’s within the one year warranty! Amazon as far as I’m aware replace within two years or if you’re paying full price I would consider another well known retailer that will provide a two year warranty. Water remains in the bottom of the kettle even if turned upside down and in hard water areas not ideal. I could see limescale even after a two weeks usage so I descaled it with vinegar and now use filtered water which has helped a lot.It’s not noticeable noisy but quiet is an overstatement, although, to be fair it’s better than other kettles.I think 3 1/2 stars
I've wanted one of these (and the matching toaster) for ages. Took the plunge and forked out for the most expensive kettle I've ever owned.Practically speaking, it performs as well as any other quality kettle. It's quite fast, quite quiet and safe to pick up whilst full of hot water, as the handle remains cool enough to touch.What sets this apart, for me at least, are the classic looks, the flask-like construction that keeps boiled water warm, and the accurate pour. You do however, need to tip the kettle quite far to get the water out.I hope and expect that this is the last kettle that I ever need to buy, and while I own it, I will smile whilst admiring my investment.
It seems a little silly to get so animated about a kettle but here we go…..I was looking to replace my Delonghi kettle which had lasted an impressive 15 years, and though I was happy to get another one, this Dualit caught my eye in my search and I’m very grateful it did. My husband’s forever telling me that I buy things that look great but don’t serve the purpose, but with this Dualit even he would admit that you definitely get the best of both worlds - aesthetically pleasing AND a damn good product! I love that it has the cup gauge on the side (I definitely use less water when filling it now), I love the flip lid (it was always a bit of a fight to pull the lid off my old Delonghi), I love how sturdy it feels (not heavy, just that satisfying sturdiness that comes with a quality product), I love the spout design (I know, I know, it’s just a spout, but this one just makes pouring so…well….tidy), I love that it’s Bpa free (husband couldn’t give a monkey’s but I’m in to that sort of thing), I love the quietness, the quickness, the chrome and copper - it looks utterly charming and I’m unashamed to say that it gives me a little bit of joy every time I pick it up and use it. Oh and let’s not forget that it’s made by a British company. So all in all what I’m trying to get across is it’s well worth the investment. Now I’m off to make a cup of tea…
Love the design and the build quality- had a run of kettles that kept not wanting to play. Steam escaping, not stopping boiling etc. So bit the bullet and bought this one. Love the idea that replacement parts are available, and from the quality of the kettles build I can say that it's here to stay. It really is a piece of craftsmanship-the pour comes straight out the side which takes a minute to get used to, and I never thought of there being such a thing as a 'good' pour but it's smooth and doesn't spill/splash at all. The downside to this is that it's heavy, not much of a problem when it's for a few cups but full it gives you a bit of a workout!There's a gauge on both sides of the kettle, one with measurements and one with cups, it's handy to be able to see the fill from both sides- hadn't really thought about it before!I don't know that it's any quieter than any other kettle, but I'm no expert- to me it sounds like a kettle!Finally, yes I know it's a totally overpriced kettle- but I don't plan on buying another one ! I'm thinking of it as an investment in a decent cuppa!
Bought to replace our older Dualit that we have had for ten years because whilst still working well it is looking tired and of course styles change.This one taps into the latest style of using copper for a bit of added retro look, which I rather like. There is a sort of 'industrial,' look about it that is a bit steam punk in its execution.In use it boils very fast and most noticeably - or rather not - very quietly. So much so that you have to be standing right by it to hear it. The lid is a bit stiff to open which I'm sure will ease over time but when it is open the top is clear for filling with an easily read level gauge down the side.If I do have a niggle then it is the manufacturing of this. It's not cheap for a kettle and yet whilst Dualit proudly brandishes the 'Designed and Engineered in Britian,' tag lines everywhere, the reality is that this is not made in the UK. It is made like most things overseas in some low labour cost country. And if this only cost twenty quid then fair enough but when you are forking out close on £120 then I fail to see how there isn't enough slack in that price to enable UK manufacturing to still allow a decent profit to be made. This is a real bugbear with me when 'traditional,' British companies play on their Britishness and charge accordingly yet are actually selling you stuff made in the Far East.Anyway, rant over, the actual product is well made, stylish and works very well. But pricey.
This kettle has a premium quality feel, looks great and is very well put together too. The 'Whisper Boil' works - the boil is noticeably quieter than our previous kettle. The windows on the sides of the kettle make it easy to put in the right volume of water to avoid wasting electricity. There's no taint to the taste of the water, even when new. The 3kW element means that the kettle boils quickly, even when full and non-drip spout works well too. The design of the kettle means you have to fill it by opening the lid which is rather stiff to open but is well-sealed, so no leaks. The only other small gripe is the weight of this kettle but I guess that's down to the premium quality components. Given the high price of this kettle compared to most others on the market, does it give value for money? For me, the simple answer is 'Yes'. I paid for quality and I got it!
We've had many kettles over the years, we even had a Dualit one which was so noisy we were pleased when it started leaking and we could get rid of it.But we've recently had a new kitchen installed and, as we don't expect to do it again, my wife chose only the very best appliances, all Miele. The only thing we didn't replace was our kettle as the one we had wasn't very old. That was until she saw this kettle in the Lakeland catalogue and fell in love with it.So we looked on Amazon and found it at the same price and bought it.Lakeland in their blurb describe it as being so quiet you'll only hear it when it clicks itself off. Well that's a bit of an exaggeration as its certainly not that quiet. That said though, it is by far the quietest kettle we've ever had and it's certainly the most beautiful to look at. It pours well too. But it really is the looks which sold it to us. We've only had it a for a couple of days so I don't know how long it will last. We have got a Classic Dualit toaster which we've had for 17 years and that's still going strong. So we hope it'll last as long as that. Go on, take a risk, I guarantee you'll not find a better looking kettle anywhere.
