Goodbye to the ugly food caddy on the kitchen worktop, hello to slimline container hidden under the sink! The fact that it's mounted to the inside of the cupboard (above the height of the cleaning products stored there), means it is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. So far it hasn't fallen off! Be careful when screwing into the door, I did go in a little too far. As you can see, I am using the green compact bags I bought for my own caddy, rather than those specifically designed for it. The fact that it can be easily removed from it's position, makes it easy to have by your side if peeling straight into it or for emptying. For most of the time, it remains under the sink waiting for my never ending supply of used teabags-I just lift up the lid and in they go!
Second one I have bought, loved it so much I got my dad one, it’s so ideal for scraping the dinner plates into as it is plate width unlike so many other food waste bins, you know when you too the plate up that all the food in the plate will fall straight into the wide bin rather than spilling over the sides, doesn’t fit as much as the grey council bin they give you but again I don’t mind that as who wants rotting food in the house for any longer than needed, we are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 teenage boys) and I fill this up and empty it every 2 days. I also like the fact it has a vent you can open in the lid so if you have put hot teabags or hot food in it it can vent rather than condensate. Only thing I would have liked is for it to be grey! Would highly recommend.
Looks great on your counter top and comes with a bracket to put into a cupboard . Please excuse crappy pics - kitchen needs cleaning . We bought two , one for compost waste and one for food waste . Friends have bought them after seeing mine - easy to clean and really sturdy !
Soo pleased. Fits exactly how I wanted and just fills what was an empty space. Would highly recommend. Oh and the colour is perfect. By the way, I’m a lady weeks away from my 80th but I’ve managed to fit this myself. Really thrilled. It looks very sturdy, easy to clean, and being Joseph Joseph I’m certain it will be most durable
I’d been looking for a smaller food caddy on and off for around a week. I’m sick of my Council issue one which is too big, brown, very ugly and takes up a lot of space. This JJ one was the exact size I was looking for…..a small rectangular one which took up less space. I was battling with myself a bit, trying hard to wrestle and justify it to myself spending nearly “30 QUID” on a food caddy/bin which just gets stinky scrap food in it. It was a difficult one and it is HUGELY expensive for what it is….but I did buy one in the end as it matched my requirements exactly and the measurements were spot on for my sink cupboard and the arrangement within it. I bit the bullet and got the grey one to match my external door fronts, also thinking the dark grey would show up less food, marks and spills to the white one. The bug-bear here was the grey was £5 more than the white!!!! Grrrr WHY!!! Anyway, that annoyance aside, I’m so glad i got it and took the hit of £29.99. It’s super brilliant. Such excellent quality and the perfect size. Be careful before mounting it on the inside of your cupboard for obstructions such as the sink bowl coming into the cupboard (like mine) and any pipe work (which didn’t affect mine). THe screw supplied was smaller than the width of my kitchen door so there was no fear the the screw going to far in and damaging the outside laminate of the cupboard front. Take care when screwing them in though. Just as a precaution. Mine were fine. I continue to use the Lidl food caddy bags in mine as that’s what I used in my ugly Council food bin. I find the Lidl ones one of the better supermarket brands for size and strength. Yes they’re a little too deep for the JJ caddy but there’s plenty of width to them to push the bags into the corners of the caddy. The Joseph Joseph caddy liners are a ridiculous price, and won’t be buying those. The lid of this caddy comes off completely so you can fold it down the sides, then clamp it in place with the caddy lid. The caddy then hooks on and off its mount within the cupboard really easily. It’s only me and my husband at home now, so this caddy is plenty big enough for our food waste. Especially where we’re making a very conscious effort not to throw food away and have waste as its all so expensive now. I also like that its smaller as it encourages me to empty it more frequently…rather than have a bigger bin that more fits in then 9/10 the bags spilt and stinky food goes everywhere. The bin being smaller is another advantage. It fits very neat and natty in the cupboard allowing more a lot more storage space for other things. Its Bye bye horrid ugly brown council bin. Yes this is expensive and hard to justify on such a small bin….but it is absolutely brilliant. Perfect in every way. Because i love it so much its been justified.
Really good quality! Easy to install! Doesnt cause a smell in the cupboard. Lid is secure and opens easily. Fits normal food waste bags. Looks flush and stylish. Can fit a decent amount of food waste.

I like the vent to stop tea bags, etc steaming. It is quite small, but that’s not a bad thing as it means I empty it a little more regularly. It’s easy to clean and easy to carry to the outside bin with the handle. I put this purchase off for a while but I’m so glad I just went ahead and did it. Keeps the rest of the worktop caddy free!
I bought a food bin from Aldi and realised it was badly designed ( difficult to get the bag out) and it was ridiculously small. As a consequence I reluctantly went to the other end of the cost scale and bought a Joseph Joseph bin. It is worth every penny. Well thought out design- good shape, streamlined design ( no corners difficult to clean), roomy, easy to empty and looks good on a kitchen counter. I would definitely recommend it.
Have had this bin for 8 months hanging on the inside of our cupboard under the sink. This cupboard doesn't have a huge amount of room but the design works well as the depth is quite narrow. It hasn't caused the door to sag at all. We use it for all types of food waste including meat, fruit and veg offcuts. There are just 2 of us but it adequately holds all food waste for an entire week between rubbish collections. And the very best part - the odours do not escape the bin when it is closed. It's easy to mount, easy to remove, holds compostable bags perfectly and is easy to wash. I've had some average to poor products from Joseph Joseph but this is a real winner.
Perfect for food waste that can be hidden away. Tesco waste bags fit well. Looks stylish and functions perfectly. Would be nice if it had a lift handle at the front but 2 hands when full is required. Holds quite a lot! Easy to clean

I like the size and shape. It fits in a narrow spot in my kitchen out of the way.It is easy to open and use without getting it dirty because the shape and the way the lid opens means you can scrape plates or kitchen boards into it without bits falling anywhere except into the main opening.The council green food bags fit it perfectly. The handle is comfortable to use and folds away neatly without getting in the way when not being used.It looks nice.I keep the air vent closed and I have had no trouble with flies nor smells.It is a bit expensive but it is worth it for the style, convenience and 100% suitability for my needs.
Very nice caddy, fitted mounting to inside of door under kitchen sink. I had problems fitting the bin liner till I discovered that the top comes off at the join line that runs around just above the handle fixing. Just pull up top and off it comes, fit liner inside and then stretch and fold down over the area where the top came off, now push the top back on trapping the liner in place.Bracket needs careful marking of position on door with pencil and ruler and then started holes with my gimlet and then used a small screwdriver to fit screws.Caddy fits on well, just drops in place on bracket and never falls off when opening and closing door.I have it at a good height to peal streight into and it is easy to clean after I put the liner out ready for collection.
Fits perfectly inside my cupboard and makes composting food waste super easy. Nice and sturdy and the closed lid with vent is great.
I looked at many of the square shaped caddies including ones from Joseph Joseph but no matter how many photos I saw, I just wasn't keen to have a rotting compost box on the worktop. But having installed this in a cupboard door which has it open out in front of where I tend to do the food chopping , I am very happy with it.I did have to buy 10l bags despite it being 4l as I was anxious about how smaller bags would fit the oblong shape. I know Joseph Joseph produce bags but these seemed to carry a premium. If you search for B00RELUK4O , I found these bags worked well. They had enough excess to make changing the bag easy without being too baggy if you pardon the pun! I am a family of 2, I think any bigger and we would have too much smell coming out of it before we filled it. The box fitted firmly on to the holder and the rim for holding the bags in place was easy to work with. On the whole I was perfectly happy with it.
For years I’d used the little green compost caddies provided by the council, but I got fed up with flies laying eggs in the nooks and crannies of the lid even when I kept it closed, resulting in scenes worthy of a horror movie when the eggs hatched into maggots. This Joseph Joseph caddy was a revelation - sleek and good-looking and the perfect shape for scraping food into from a dinner plate or the worktop. The top fits snugly and hides the top of the bag, and it’s so easy to clean. No more problems with flies laying eggs, there’s no way they can get in (with the air vent closed obviously). Totally recommended!

Have had several indoor compost bins in my time. All have had miserly capacity and/or loose or tight fitting lids or have rusted or bent. One final try? Okay.Well, jackpot! This one can take a decent amount of waste before we have to walk it to the outdoor bin. It can be placed square on to the worktop edge for spill-less transfer of potato peelings. It's made well, from hard plastic so it won't bend. The lid is hinged and fits well, so it won't smell. It hangs securely and conveniently inside our under-sink cupboard, so you can't see it. Oh, and it has a removeable top so it's easy to clean. Bloody brilliant, cheers!

I'm almost embarrassed to be raving about a food waste recycling caddy...but I am!This fits perfectly in the small section of my sink, but would do equally well at the side as it is super stylish.Great capacity and nice matt finish, with the bonus that it goes into the dishwasher.Comes in two colours - I chose the deep grey. It's a winner for me, so-much-so that I bought one for each of my sons and they are equally impressed!
Wish I'd discovered this sooner. Perfect size to fit inside kitchen cupboard door, with ample clearance of sink. Frees up valuable counter top space, and is away from sunlight so food waste does not degrade so quickly which means the compost bag lasts a bit longer. Very impressed with the solid design and ease of fitting. Although the design is slim it holds more than my previous compost caddy.
