If you like unboxing videos there's a good chance you might like this one, that's because to get at the toaster you'll need to go through a process that feels like unwrapping a present.Firstly is seeing, opening and then reading the contents of a small card envelope, which turned out to be the instructions. A clever idea that looks good and gives the product a premium feel, plus more importantly it made me read the instructions, which is usually something I only do when I have an issue. But this time I had confidence on how to use the toaster before I'd even got my hands on it.After that I found the first of two bags, one being a drawstring bag made from a tough Oxford style fabric with a slightly rough surface. Something I've never seen before for a household appliance and it definitely adds to the feeling this is a high-end product.Inside that is another bag, something that's made from a soft material akin to those bags found in supermarkets for holding vegetables. However, despite these bags adding to the premium experience, there are several caveats to consider with these storage bags.Firstly both bags cover the toaster tightly, in fact so tightly they are hard to remove. So hard that I had to ask someone to help me and when I pulled the toaster the tightly knotted bag string snapped. At which point the toaster encountered gravity. Fortunately, before it became an expensive pile of plastic, my much faster assistant managed to grab the toaster.The second thing about the bags is to think about what toasters create. Not only tasty toast, but also crumbs and small bits of bread, crumbs that get stuck into the folds of the drawstring bag. Which after a few days, especially during hot summer days do start to smell rather yeasty. Fortunately both bags are washable and can be air dried, so there's no chance of mouldy bits of bread creating new lifeforms inside the bags.Another thing to know is that toast is literally burnt bread, so the crumbs and bits it creates are rather rough stuff. So you need to keep the supermarket style bag inside the drawstring bag, otherwise the combination of a rough drawstring bag and crumbs could scratch the surface of the toaster. Which would be a shame as it really is a good looking toaster.Plus, as other people pointed out to me, is how often do you need to transport a toaster ? Yes this is undeniably a posh one, but I'm unlikely to take it around friend's houses to show it off. Instead it will be like my other appliances and sit on the kitchen worktop until it's needed. Though I can't fault how nice this looks, how well it's made, how it's got good features and how well it works.With the former the deep red finish, and the big badges with brand names, give it a lovely retro feel. I also like how it feels rock solid, having a robustness that's very different from cheaper toasters. Indeed to me it clearly feels that this one is built to last.Plus it's features are nicely positive as well. Such as how the extra wide slots are just right for crumpets and crusty homemade bread. Or how the crumb tray is easy to open, it just slides out. Then all I need to do is shake the toaster over a big baking tray, then afterwards give this toaster a wipe with a damp cloth.But it's also the little details, such as how the dials have a nice audible click to them when turned. There's even a bagel button so I can toast one side of something. Or, how the super shiny handles have knobs, which have a lovely tactile feel to them. Making it feel almost industrial and old at times, like something you'd find in an old Italian cafe.Plus, as I'd expect from all of this, it's quick to heat up and makes great toast. I especially like how it's got good levels of consistency when it comes to browning. Indeed with this one it's very noticeable there's very little difference in browning levels even when I've been using this for a long time.Which means others are less likely to complain their toast is burnt. Yes sometimes it does toast too quickly, so much so that I found myself setting the dial to a lower setting than on my old toaster.Overall? Yes this does have a premium price point, but if that's not an issue, then it's a durable, good looking and highly functional toaster that's worth getting.
As the old adage goes "you get what you pay for" and never has that been truer than with this toaster. At £130 (£119 discounted at the time of review) this is an expensive toaster whichever way you look at it. However, as soon as you open the box the quality hits you. Firtsly, the toaster is wrapped in its own pull-string bag as an extra layer of protection - not something I've ever seem with a toaster before! Next, the finish of the product is superb and even inludes two 'Rangemaster' badges, one at each end of the toaster. It's also about as solidly built as a toaster can be with no rattling or thinly pressed covers. Upon using it for the first time you may be met with a strange smell but this appears to be the heating elements burning-off whatever the unit is finished in at the factory. It certainly disappears after a few uses. Talking of heat-up, it is extraordinarily fast - so much quicker than my old toaster - and it gives-off a huge amount of heat as well toasting iems in next to no time. So far I haven't really needed to go beyond level 2.5 on the six-dial controller. It even has a 'Bagel' function if you only want to toast one side of items such as Bagels, Muffins and Crumpets. All in all, a beutifully finished and solid toaster that works extremely well.
This is a very nice looking toaster, beautiful colour and design, good quality and weight make it sturdy. buttons and levers work smoothly, really easy to set up and use. Such a toaster with bigger slots, perfect for chunkier bread, bagels, etc.Looks smart, has pretty much all the features, great to have buttons to use for defrosting and keep warm. Haven't had any burnt bread or buns since I got it.I have used it several times since. I am very pleased with the way it toasts 4 pieces bread at the same time and the bread is toasted and browned evenly over the entire slice, remains crispy.It certainly doesn’t disappoint. We've used it a limited amount but it performs fairly well and as you would expect. A bit expensive but a stylish addition to our kitchenware.
This Rangemaster Classic toaster in the Bordeaux colour looks beautiful in real life and on the kitchen counter. The deep red shade gives it a high end, traditional look which makes the chrome really pop. The build quality feels solid and sturdy.The extra-wide slots are something you never knew you missed until you’ve tried them. They are perfect for thick-cut bread, crumpets, or bagels. Everything fits easily without getting stuck or crushed, and it pops up perfectly every time, no need to prise currant tea-cakes out with a butter knife.Four slots make breakfast time much faster for more than one person. On my old toaster I'd have two fruit teacakes which would mean waiting for two rounds but I can do it in one with this.The six browning levels mean everyone can get their toast how they like it, from anaemic bread to cremated. The auto-settings for defrosting and reheating work well too. You can take bread straight from the freezer, press the button, and it thaws and toasts perfectly without burning the edges.It is also very easy to keep clean as the crumb trays slide out from the bottom without making a mess.I must admit I wondered whether I could ever justify paying so much for a toaster but now I have experienced it, for the extra features if you can splash out and eat a lot of toasted items the cost to toast ratio will soon come right down. Although some of the extra cost does go towards the extra features, the other is towards the brand and build as Rangemaster is a premium British brand famous for its luxury range of cookers meaning you can expect the same luxury quality for this toaster. I’m sure the fairly unique colour will also add a bit to the asking price – if you are going to have to keep it out on display due to lack of cupboard space like I do, you want to be staring at something beautiful. The wider slots are also worth every penny. So yes, it might be a larger than average expenditure for a toaster but it will last for years.
We'd been looking for a toaster that looked a little more premium than the average supermarket model, and this fitted into our kitchen perfectly. The Bordeaux finish gives it a classic look that really stands out without being too obnoxious. It looks really classy.More importantly, it performs just as well as it looks. The extra-wide slots comfortably fit thicker slices of bread, bagels and crumpets without anything getting stuck, and the browning control is consistent from one use to the next.The different settings are genuinely useful rather than just being there for the sake of it. We regularly use the frozen setting straight from the freezer, and it saves having to wait for bread to defrost first.It feels solid, well built and like something that's designed to last. It's one of those kitchen appliances you use every day, so it's nice having one that both looks good and works exactly as you'd hope.
This toaster is absolutely superb and I adore the design and style! The colour is fab! It looks fantastic in my kitchen and it’s a very good size. It’s not too big or bulky and I like that it’s easy for me to use. It’s very handy that the slots are extra wide and the browning levels are all great and work well. I think it’s very easy to clean and I’ve not had any issues or problems with using it. The value for money is fantastic and I highly recommend it.
This is an excellent quality four slice toaster from a premium brand. The dark red colour is lovely and would suit modern kitchens well. A matching kettle is also available from the same brand if you are looking to match up your appliances. Features wise, this had everything I expected of such a product, 6 levels of browning easily selectable, auto defrost options and nice wide slots for coping with thicker bread and things like bagels and hot cross buns. The product also advertises an anti jam feature, so far we’ve no issues with that, despite toasting some large bread items, so I guess that is effective.The overall build quality is excellent with great attention to detail paid in the design.The knobs / levers are sturdy and look like they should stand the test of time (this is something that I find often snaps off after a while on cheaper brands). The price is premium of course, but I agree with other reviewers in that this is a case of you getting what you pay for.
I recently purchased the Rangemaster toaster with four slots, and it has truly made breakfast time a breeze. It’s perfect for a family, as I can toast multiple slices of bread or bagels at once without any fuss. The design is sleek, and it fits well on my countertop without taking up too much space. What I really appreciate is the adjustable settings, which allow me to get my toast just right every time. The toasting is even, and I love that it has a cancel button if I need to interrupt the process. Overall, this toaster has exceeded my expectations and has quickly become a staple in my kitchen.
This toaster is fantastic, it’s been extremely well made & it’s excellent qualityIt’s been very nicely designed & it has a retro look to it which I really like & it, it’s a really nice burgundy colour as well so it gives off a very appealing appearanceIt’s a very durable toaster & it have extra wide slots so you can fit thicker bread in it to toast it, it’s also a 4 slice toaster which I like.It’s extremely easy to use this toaster & being disabled that’s exactly what I needed & it’s fits really well in my kitchenI absolutely love this toaster & love the retro look of it & that it’s a great size, I just love everything about it & it toasts bread really wellI’m really pleased I got this toaster & will use it all the time, this toaster is well worth getting & it’s absolutely fantasticI very highly recommend this toaster & it’s great value for money
