At last a two slice toaster that easily accommodates a large Warburtons toastie slice and more in fact for the geeks the slots are 170mm long and 35mm wide, in fact it’s not that much bigger on the outside than my old 2 slice toaster.Toasts the bread evenly at setting 3 can’t think what you would use number 6 for! Can’t fault it
This unit is a bit larger overall in size than your average toaster but that is no doubt to accommodate larger slices. It is advertised as 'brushed st.stl.' but to me it looks a bit more like dull chrome. It is very powerful so be careful at what setting you select. I go for 2.25 out of 5 or 6. It is powerful probably to reduce toasting time. The countdown feature is good as well as the others such as reheat. Overall, I think it looks good, looks well made, toasts all over normal bread and accepts large slices.
I have never had a toaster before always using the grill on my oven, however the grill had become temperamental so I decided to buy a toaster …….. but which one?I knew I wanted a 2 slice toaster made by a quality brand, Amazon had so many to choose from so I looked for toaster reviews online. A Daily broadsheet paper had an article titled ‘15 Best Toasters of 2024’ and this Distinctions Toaster scored 8/10, so I then returned to Amazon to look at this toasters reviews there. All seemed good so I ordered the Titanium colour. What I like about it:-1) Lovely clean cut design, although it is lightweight is feels nice and sturdy2) The slots are long and wide, it can easily toast thick chunks of bread, crumpets and bagels.3) Easy to use, there are 3 dials/buttons on the front. The left one is split into two, either for reheating or for defrosting. The middle one is a LED light countdown dial, so you can actually see the progress of the toasting. The knob on the right is a dial for how brown you want your toast, ranging from 1 to 6.4) It has a nice long cable (45 inches /115 cm) and a wind on storage space for the cable under the toaster (when not in use).5) There is a lift to view handle at the side of the toaster if you want to check progress, which I haven’t used as I’d rather watch the LED countdown light.6) Now I have decided on the best ‘browning setting’ for me, the toast does quickly and evenly and most importantly it tastes lovely. My only slightly negative comment would be that the shiny stainless steel shows up my fingerprints, but if I remember after every use as well as emptying the crumb tray I should also wipe the toaster, no problem.Overall really pleased with my first toaster, I think I made the right choice.
Very pleased with this toaster. Operation smooth, various toasting levels excellent, and toasting time indicator a useful addition. Thoroughly recommended.
Even though Russell Hobbs claim that this toaster will take larger slices of bread, it will not take a Warburton's medium (blue wrapper) slice of bread vertical. There is still a small amount of bread sticking out above the elements. It will however take a full slice of bread horizontal. The slots are just wide enough so I'm happy. The countdown timer is very useful as is the ability to lift the bread up so you can see how brown the toast is. Overall, a great toaster. A bit more expensive than your average toaster but well worth it.
This is a 1700w toaster double the size of the previous one double the price! But it’s well worth the extra, quick and able to double cook the bread which is my personal preference
Good quality
I bought this as it advertises that the length is longer and takes thick bread as my other toaster I use I have to cut off about 1 1/2"inches just to get the bread to fit so that to me is a lot of waste over the year, this one does a marvellous job not wastage of bread and looks good.
Despite the traditional British brand name, unfortunately it's made in China. Solid and robust external quality appearance with grey and chrome type finish. All various controls are on the front of the device. Helpful that there is an illuminated indicator of the remaining toasting time. The only really negative issue is that the toasting time control numbers are recessed in the dial and are too small, feint and therefore difficult to see as they are not illuminated. Initially, this results in burnt or under toasting. You learn to look carefully with light on it to select the correct setting. Getting the correct setting is important because this is a powerful toaster. There is a plus! It comes with a standard 2 year warranty. However, if you register the product online, you will receive an additional year making 3 in total. It is essential that you retain the original purchase details to be able to claim.Overall, when you have become acclimatised to this settings issue, it is a good toaster and looks the part in a stylish kitchen!
This is a great machine and well worth the extra money. It cooks the toast evenly and the big slots mean I can toast the 4 halves of 2 hot cross buns at the same time. The only down side is the numbers are awkward to read through their little window but I love the countdown circle feature. The top casing gets very hot so be careful when removing the toast. Even though it has the brilliant high-lift slider, I use wooden tongs for smaller items so I don't burn myself. I think it is great - very robust and the best toaster I've had in a very long while.
